Gnome-Screen: Integrated Gnome Terminal and GNU Screen

The integration part between gnome-terminal and screen program is done. Now any command/data can be transfered between screen, vte, and gnome-terminal.
Here are some screen shots:

1) Creating a new screen session

2) Create a new screen tab:

This will generates a new screen session in a new tab.

    This is great, but I was just looking into it and realized that I really want something else, notably integration of gnome-terminal with a remote screen session that I attach to over ssh.

    IOW, what I’m really looking for is ‘attach to screen session on xxx’

    It doesn’t seem to be possible unless we hack ssh to do
    ssh xxx –fd1=14 –fd2=15 “screen -r –control-fd=%fd1,%fd2″
    or something like that.

    Do you think that’s feasible?

    This is very exciting work, I’m looking forward to using it. However I too would like to point out that I use screen primarily over SSH, so being able to use gnome-terminal integration in that scenario would be ideal. Thanks for doing this, many of us GNOME/GNU screen users are watching with great interest!

    Thanks for writing this feature. I am using GNOME 2.16, but can not find this option in my ‘gnome-terminal’. Is there a CVS or SVN from where I can try this feature?
